However, this recent failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump by Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old preparing to vote for the first time in the upcoming November 2024 US presidential elections, ended tragically.

 Crooks was fatally shot by Secret Service agents when he allegedly attempted to assassinate the former US President at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday.

Trump, 78, a presidential Republican candidate campaigning in Bethler, narrowly avoided the bullet that struck and killed Corey, a 50-year-old former volunteer fire chief. 

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced on Sunday that Corey was the deceased, describing him as a hero who shielded his family from harm.

"Corey died a hero. He shielded his family last night," the governor remarked.

Protected by security services from further chaos, Trump was swiftly evacuated with a bleeding ear. Several astonishing details about Crooks emerged from news channels.

 Former classmates described Crooks, a 2022 graduate of Bethler Park High School, as quiet and reserved person. 

Jim Knapp, a retired counselor from Bethler Park High School, recalled, "He was a quiet kid who diligently did his work without complaint and didn't seem particularly interested in politics."

Crooks was an intelligent student who received a $500 cash prize and the Initiative Star Award for excellence in math and science at school. 

Despite being a member of the local shooting club, Carlton Sportsmanship, he was rejected multiple times from the school's rifle team due to his poor shooting skills.

"He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn," a friend who played video games with Crooks in homeroom remarked.

The motives behind Crooks' attempted assassination remain unclear. 

Residents of Crooks' neighborhood expressed shock at how such a socially reserved and introverted young man could commit such a drastic act. 

His father expressed bewilderment over the situation.
